Yes, you will need to visit a Branch to obtain your Debit One Card (Pinpas), after the account has been successfully opened.
All customers wishing to open an account through RepublicOnboard need to have the following:
- A valid email address
- A device with a working camera to capture a selfie and relevant documents
- Valid Passport as proof of identification or National Identification (ID) or Nationality Certificate
- For persons with dual nationality one form of identification stating the nationality related to each country of which you are national should be provided
- Recent utility bill and Authorization letter, if the utility bill is not in your name
- A job letter or pay slip is also required (No more than 3 months)
- Reference letter (in some cases)
- Required Deposit for opening
- For self-employed persons, any one (1) of the following is also required:
o Projected Cash Flow
o Receipts, Contracts, Lease Agreements
o Financial Statement

No, when you open an account via RepublicOnboard you are automatically enrolled to Internet Banking for your convenience.
Currently, RepublicOnboard does not allow non-citizens to open an account online. The service is limited to local currency accounts, and registration is only possible with a Surinamese phone number. To open an account, kindly proceed to a branch to facilitate such requests.
Absolutely! Unemployed individuals, including those who are students, retired, or homemakers, can open a Personal Chequing account using RepublicOnboard. We strive to be inclusive and welcome individuals from all employment backgrounds to experience the convenience of our digital banking services.
Absolutely! Self-employed individuals who do not operate a listed business can open an e-Free account via RepublicOnboard. Listed businesses include Real Estate Agents, Motor Vehicle Agents, Gaming Houses, Pool Betting, National Lotteries, On-Line Betting Games, Jewellery Business, Private Member’s Club, Attorneys-at-Law, Accountants, or other persons performing the functions of an Accountant or other Independent Legal Professionals, Art Dealers, Trust and Company Service Providers. To open an account for your listed businesses, kindly proceed to a branch to facilitate such requests.

Customers who are PEP, i.e., persons that currently hold a position in public office or is an immediate family member (spouse, parent, sibling, child/stepchild or chose personal/professional associate) of a person holding a position in public office, unfortunately cannot be onboarded via RepublicOnboard. To open an account kindly proceed to a branch to facilitate such requests.
A smart device (with a camera) will be required to complete the online application. The camera is used to capture necessary identification documents, customer’s selfie and verify the customer’s identity.
The process to open an account via RepublicOnboard can be relatively quick. Please note that all applications will be reviewed by the Bank who reserves the right to approve or decline the application. This process will take one business day to complete.
If you fall under multiple customer types, you can randomly select any one of the types to continue with your application process.
You can only stop and resume your application after you have received your Internet Banking email providing you with your temporary IB password.
You have two options to resume your application:

2. Select the country
3. Select new customer
4. Select the Branch you originally chose during the application process
5. Enter the same email address you used to register
6. A One-Time Password (OTP) will be sent to your email
7. Enter the OTP to continue your application from where you left off
Option 2: Resume via Reminder Email
1. Open the reminder email and select the “Click here to continue” link.
2. You will be redirected to www.republiconboard.com
3. Select the country
4. Select new customer
5. Select the branch you originally chose during the application process
6. Enter the same email address you used to register
7. An OTP will be sent to your email
8. Enter the OTP to resume your application where you left off.
